Poll: 78 Percent in U.S. 'Convinced' That God Exists

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Ninety-four percent of Americans say they believe in God and the overwhelming majority of them are "convinced" that He exists, according to a new Gallup poll.
The poll, which measures the certainty of Americans' beliefs, shows that 78 percent of U.S. adults are "convinced that God exists." Another 12 percent think God probably exists, but they have a "little doubt" about it and 4 percent say they think God probably exists but they have "a lot of doubt."
Only 5 percent of Americans say they don't believe in God. Four percent say they think God probably doesn't exist, but they "are not sure" that He doesn't, and only 1 percent of Americans are "convinced that God does not exist."
