It was inevitable. The cartoon nonsense has reached a new level, as a Muslim cleric in Pakistan has announced a $1 million bounty, declaring "whoever will take this insulting man to his end, will get this prize."

More precisely, prayer leader Mohammed Yousaf Qureshi has said that his mosque and religious school in Peshawar were offering $25,000 and a shiny new car, and the local jeweler's association will be kicking in another $1 million.

Police have confined Qureshi to his home for fear he may incite violence.

Qureshi failed to specify a single cartoonist. He is apparently unaware that the cartoons were drawn by 12 different artists.
