Vatican Asks Jacko To Pen JP II: The Musical

from Sploid

Hoping to spread the wisdom of John Paul II, the Vatican has asked a child-molesting, cross-dressing, Jew-hating, Jehovah's Witness to put the late pope's prayers to music.

"We have been contacted by people close to Michael Jackson who have expressed interest and we are thinking about it," said Father Giuseppe Moscati of the Edizioni Musicali Terzo Millennio.

"We have the rights for the 24 prayers written by Pope John Paul.

"We had hoped the fact that we have been in contact with Michael Jackson would remain a secret. But sadly it has leaked out ahead of time. We are in discussions and trying to sort it out."

News broke last night that Jackson was flying to Venice to officially sign on with the project.

But word reached the squirrelly superstar that reporters and paparazzi were waiting for him and his children. Upon hearing this he reportedly fled to the States.

A source in Venice said: "We were all ready to put the deal to Michael Jackson but he was scared off when the news leaked out. As soon as he knew everyone was waiting for him and the project had been found out he disappeared. We don't know where he is now."

Since his most recent acquittal of child molestation charges, Jackson has been staying out of the public eye, only recently reappearing in Bahrain, where he seems to be living life as a Muslim woman.

With its rich history of turning a blind eye to child molestation, the Vatican seems like a natural place for Jackson to rehabilitate his career.

Though his distaste for Italians may become an issue down the road.
