The Bible, Rated NC-17

Erotic Moments from Bible...

from Reuters

BERLIN - A German Protestant youth group has put together a 2006 calendar with 12 staged photos depicting erotic scenes from the Bible, including a bare-breasted Delilah cutting Samson's hair and a nude Eve offering an apple.

"There's a whole range of biblical scriptures simply bursting with eroticism," said Stefan Wiest, the 32-year-old photographer who took the titillating pictures.

Anne Rohmer, 21, poses on a doorstep in garters and stockings as the prostitute Rahab, who is mentioned in both New and Old Testaments. "We wanted to represent the Bible in a different way and to interest young people," she told Reuters.

"Anyway, it doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that you are forbidden to show yourself nude."

Bernd Grasser, pastor of the church in Nuremberg where the calendar is being sold, was enthusiastic about the project which is explained online at www.bibelkalender.de.

"It's just wonderful when teenagers commit themselves with their hair and their skin to the bible," he said.

The Bible may not say don't show your bodies naked. But it does say that lusting after someone is wrong. Lust is a sin. And...if you are doing something to make someone lust after another, that is sin also. Nakedness in itself may not be spoken of, but for many people of this world, lust is a problem that will keep them from God, or pull them away from God. I know I would not want to be the person who does something to cause someone's soul to be eternally lost. Here is what the Bible does say.
1John 2:15-17 - 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Mark 9:42&47 - 42 "But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea. 47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire--
Don't cause someone to be cast into the fires of hell, just because you want to show naked women on a calandar. You are not helping the children of this world, you are hindering them.
1 Cor 8:12-13 - 12 But when you thus sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ. 13 Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.
If naked photographs cause my brother to stumble, I will never take them, have them, or look at them. Please don't weaken the conscience of the children. The Bible is very clear on causing a brother to stumble, and if our children think it is OK to be naked, it will lead to other things. Lust leads to adultery, which leads to unwanted pregnancy and disease. This is not how I would want my child raised. Just think about the consequences.

The Bible is a BOOK! Not FACT! Not LAW! Just one of MANY religions on this planet. All of which are WRONG. The arrogance of Christians never ceases to amaze me. You speak as if you're reading from a text book, not a collection of fairy tales mingled with contradictions, prejudices, and acts of evil. Petty, jealous gods; slaves; prohibitions against eating SHRIMP!

How many laws in Leviticus do you break every day? Orthodox Jewish women wear wigs, Muslim women in conservative countries wear veils. What if THEY are right? What if by not covering everything but your eyes you commit a sin every moment? Do you listen to Muslim or Jewish women tell you how to behave? Yes? No. So don't expect anyone to listen to Religion #469 like it's fact just because it's YOUR religion. Christianity is a cancer on humanity. The human body DOES NOT LEAD TO DISEASE anymore than a driver's license LEADS TO DRIVING OFF A CLIFF! You paranoid, ignorant, frightened lemming!

Keep your rotten, bigoted, fabricated religion to yourself. And the arrogance that comes along with it.

And have a nice day.

Sad is counting the words.

You have a very selective memory.

Christianity has been the driving force behind more murder, persecution, and heartache than any other religion - or any other cause. The Crusades? The Inquisition? The KKK? The Nazis? How do you think the Vatican got all that gold? Evil, and Christian. Don't whitewash your legacy. The most horrible atrocities in human history have been done in the name of your Christian god. And they still are. That you feed people while trying to convert them to your faith does little to compensate.

And Christians aren't the only ones who feed the hungry. Non-Christians do the same thing - and for far nobler reasons (it's sad that the reward of Heaven and the threat of Hell is the primary drive for Christian charity) - and WITHOUT the benefit of tax-free status, ignoring most laws, and practicing blatant discrimination. I'VE fed the hungry. Because it's the right thing to do. At least nuns have the decency to live in poverty while doing good. How many kids could you feed with the money you spend on that computer? I guess people aren't THAT hungry, right? So a few flies buzz around their mouths; your car runs great!

And as for the unity of the Bible, the Encyclopedia Brittanica also has unity. Why? Editing. The Bible you read today is the product of centuries of editing and unification. You'll never know what was changed, what was added, and what was omitted to bring you that perceived unity. What books never made the cut? What inconsistencies were ironed out? What was simply changed to reflect the views of those who edited it? You just accept it as an immediate perfection, like the books flew together magically in English. Carefully edited and rewritten fairy tales are still fairy tales. Imperfect and contradictory fairy tales that advocate everything from slavery to suppression to bans on eating lobster or wearing clothing composed of two different fabrics. I wonder what percentage of the Bible's many offensive and ridiculous rules do you follow - set forth by a Zeus-like deity as vain, petty, jealous, and murderous as mortal man is told never to be. How do you have sex? What do you wear? What do you eat? How many times do you strike your slaves? If you menstruate, do you follow the degrading rituals the Bible imposes on dirty little bleeding whores like you?

The Bible is common sense, lies, and folklore wrapped up in bloody little strings. Make no mistake.
