Police: Vegas Driver Wanted To 'Run Down Demons'

LAS VEGAS - The man accused of killing two people with his car Wednesday in Las Vegas told police the victims looked like demons.

The arrest report obtained by The Associated Press says Stephen Ressa told police that he steered into the crowd along the Las Vegas Strip because people were staring at him as if they were demons.

He also told police that he saw people with hands in their pockets, and thought they might have guns.

Ressa, who's from Rialto, Calif., is being held on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Besides the two people killed, 12 others were hurt. Six remain hospitalized, two in serious condition.

Police suspect Ressa was under the influence of methamphetamine. His family says he's been in drug rehab several times.
